Ninth Edition
Once again this year, Motovun Film Festival will show about ninety films that have been either produced independently or within lesser known national film industries. The objective of the Motovun Film Festival remains unchanged: to familiarize local film audience with all the diversity of world cinema by screening the representative selection of films produced outside the world's most powerful film studios. Motovun Film Festival is also an opportunity for film professionals to meet in the informal and inspiring context.
About 80 films (mostly open-air screenings) are shown during the festival’s five days and nights during which Motovun, a picturesque Istrian town, lives and breathes the festival and plays host to over 20 000 viewers. Best films in the various categories are granted awards. The festival’s top recognition is the “Motovun Propeller”, awarded to the best film in the main program. The festival is accompanied by numerous events and the dynamic life of Motovun’s streets.
