S/T/A/R focus is the cultural energy field Austria, its cities and regions as well as the networking of cultural scenes in Middle and East European countries – with an emphasis on building up partnerships of interest in these regions which report directly from their respective scenes.

ST/A/R transports events in art and architecture, city life and cultural impulses; the messages come directly from architects, artists, writers, players in the field of culture, gastrosophers … as well as creative workers from different fields. The interfaces of architectur/ art/ design/ city life/ regions/ economy are presented and discussed. ST/A/R builds up comprehensive networks and interdisciplinary communications, and is working on a European cultural discourse.
Extensive pictorial essays and inserts are designed directly by creative workers, architects, artists and writers and give immediate insight into the scenes of art and culture. “KONTAKT. Das Programm für Kunst und Zivilgesellschaft in Zentraleuropa” (KONTAKT. Programme for Art and Civil Society in Central Europe), too, is consistently represented by artists’ contributions (e.g., Julius Koller) and supports interdisciplinary and supra-regional art discourse.
