Book: „Who are the wrongdoers?" by Slavenka Drakulić

"A war never comes out of the blue, it is always prepared", says the well-known Croatian writer Slavenka Drakulić in her new book "Keiner war dabei – Kriegsverbrechen auf dem Balkan vor Gericht“ ("Nobody was involved - Balkan war crimes in court). Who are the offenders and how did they become what they now are? Over a period of weeks and months the author followed the proceedings at the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague and also in Croatia, observed the questioning as well as the day-to-day lives of the accused and discovered how ordinary young men become murderers and neighbours deadly enemies.
