Web: The Hungarian Centre for Music InformationThe Budapest Music CentreThe Hungarian Centre for Music Information (HMCI) has been operating since March 2004 under the patronage of the Budapest Music Centre (BMC). Since its founding in 1996 it has produced a series of recordings of jazz and contemporary music. The centre offers a library, a music information service and a digital data bank for music. The regular collection is made up principally of hundreds of items of sound material from Hungarian composers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, monographs, music lexicons and series. It offers information about classical and contemporary Hungarian music, organises events, festivals and competitions as well as courses held in Hungary and other countries.
