Sponsoring as we understand it is the voluntary promotion and support of institutions, initiatives and projects in the areas of society, culture and education.

The Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme is our commitment to social responsibility and moreover to values the enterprise deems worthy of support and promotion. These values go beyond the enterprise’s immediate field of business. 

Thus, these are intangible values – humane, social, cultural – the enterprise is committed to. Values we do not create but which are valuable to us. 

The Sponsoring Programme of Erste Bank is our visible commitment to our responsibility for society and the individual.

MAECENAS 2023

Awarded with the MAECENAS for "Best Art Sponsorship" in the large enterprise category

On 20 March 2024, Vermehrt Schönes! – The Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme was awarded the MAECENAS for the best art sponsorship in the large enterprise category.

Vermehrt Schönes! was introduced 10 years ago as the slogan for “The Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme”. The slogan Vermehrt Schönes! was developed by our agency kratky.net and in 2023 kratky.net created a campaign that posed the question to our partners and the public: Was ist Schönes für Sie?

Jury statement: The Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme - Vermehrt Schönes! is a visible commitment to responsibility towards society and individuals. With the campaign "Was ist für Sie Schönes?" people from the sponsored institutions could be brought more into the public eye, the jury praised the effective public realisation for art and culture.

MAECENAS 2019

For its sponsoring concept of “KLANGFORUM WIEN – WIEN MODERN – Erste Bank Composition Award”, Erste Bank is awarded the MAECENAS for “Best Art Sponsoring” in the category large scale enterprise. 

Erste Bank has been supporting the festival Wien Modern since 2002, Klangforum Wien since 2006 and has been awarding the Erste Bank Composition Award on a yearly basis since 1989. The unconventional sponsoring concept connects Wien Modern and Klangforum Wien with the composition award. The price comprises the premiere of the awarded work, at least three further performances by Klangforum Wien within a year as well as a publication of the work in the form of a portrait CD by the label Kairos.

MAECENAS 2017

Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme is awarded the MAECENAS award for "Best Art Sponsoring".

On 29 November, the Sponsoring Programme of Erste Bank was presented a MAECENAS for best art and culture sponsoring in the category large enterprises at the Maecenas Gala held at Hotel Imperial.

Since 1989, the independent Austrian Business Committee for the Arts (IWK) has been presenting the Austrian art sponsoring award MAECENAS in cooperation with the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation to entrepreneurs and enterprises for the promotion of art projects that could not have been realised without this support.

MAECENAS 2016

The Project “VIENNA DESIGN WEEK – City Work - ExtraVALUE Design Award” was awarded with the MAECENAS recognition award.

On 23 November 2016 Erste Bank received a MAECENAS recognition award for the project “VIENNA DESIGN WEEK – City Work - ExtraVALUE Design Award” in the Concept of Large Enterprises category at the 28th Maecenas Gala held at Hotel Imperial.

The City Work Format and the Erste Bank Social Design Award(formerly ExtraVALUE Design Award)

City Work, a format developed within VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, offers designers the opportunity to participate in the festival with projects from the field of social design. Partly conceived in collaboration with Caritas, these projects are presented during the festival. In addition to honouring the designers’ work, the Erste Bank Social Design Award also draws attention to themes of social design. City Work is realised as part of Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme.

The ExtraVALUE Design Award 2015 went to the committed project Infrequently Asked Questions by Ebru Kurbak. In 2016 a catalogue was also published and an exhibition was presented at the Austrian Museum for Folk Art and Folk Life.

INTERNATIONAL SPONSORING AWARD 2016

Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme was awarded the International Sponsoring Award (ISA) in the Cultural Sponsoring category.

On the evening of 19 May 2016, the German Sponsorship Association (FASPO) presented the International Sponsoring Award (ISA) to the best projects of last year. ISA is considered the authority for the quality of projects and is one of the most renowned awards in the sponsoring industry.

On 25 November 2015, Erste Bank Sponsoring Programme was awarded a MAECENAS for best art and culture sponsoring in the Concept of Large Enterprises category at the 27^th Maecenas Gala held at Hotel Imperial.
