VIENNA DESIGN WEEK

Every year in autumn, the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK presents a variety of events, ranging from exhibitions, workshops and participatory projects to talks, collaborations and guided tours.

VIENNA DESIGN WEEK annually selects a focus district within Vienna, in which development and production processes are revealed and experimental work on site is encouraged.
 

The Stadtarbeit Format and the Erste Bank Social Design Award

Stadtarbeit is a format developed within the framework of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK that offers designers the opportunity to participate in the festival with a social design project. These projects—some of which are realized in cooperation with Caritas Vienna—are implemented during the festival. In addition to recognizing the designers, the Erste Bank Social Design Award aims to draw attention to issues within the field of social design. Stadtarbeit is made possible through Erste Bank’s sponsorship program.
