Erste Bank Family Day

Erste Bank invites visitors to the Family Day at the Secession on 26 June 2026 from 10 am to 6 pm with free admission.
Visitors can look forward to a diverse public programme, including guided tours of the golden dome, the building itself, and the Beethoven Frieze, as well as tours through the current exhibitions by Mire Lee, Katherine Hubbard, and Onyeka Igwe. “Voyage of Discovery” is a specially designed tour for children aged 6 and above, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the Secession.
At the Erste Bank Children’s Studio, visitors can make, paint, build, and experiment. In addition, visitors are invited to try out the artist-developed game “Triumph and Tragedy”. At the book flea market, there is also the opportunity to take something home.
Programme
Erste Bank Children’s Studio (12 pm–6 pm):
Be an artist for a day. The Secession invites children and families to make, craft, paint, and experiment in the Erste Bank Children’s Studio.
Triumph and Tragedy (12 pm–6 pm):
“Triumph and Tragedy” is a participatory spatial installation and walk-in game that temporarily transforms the Vienna Secession into a mutable urban landscape. Visitors – especially children and their accompanying adults – become players, residents, planners, or troublemakers within a shared city that continuously changes throughout the game. Participation from age 8 and above. The project was developed and realised by Judith Raupp, Felix Hell, Tatiana Vishnyakova, Leandra Erdödy, Lucia Buchberger, and David Carol Fedders.
